Two workers killed, five injured in landslide at Rahughat Hydropower Project



MYAGDI: A landslide at Audit No. 1 (the access route to the main tunnel) of the under-construction Rahughat Hydropower Project in Raghuganga Rural Municipality, Myagdi, claimed the lives of two workers on Monday and injured five others.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Surya Bahadur Thapa of the District Police Office, the landslide struck near the base of Dagnam in Raghuganga-5, burying two workers. Five others injured in the incident have been taken to a hospital for treatment.

“Police teams are on their way to the site. Workers at the project have reported finding the bodies of one Nepali and one foreign national,” DSP Thapa said, adding that the identities of the deceased and injured have yet to be confirmed.
