Rasuwagadhi border crossing to reopen before Dashain

NUWAKOT: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Devendra Dahal, has announced that the Rasuwagadhi border crossing will be operational before Dashain. Installation work for a Bailey bridge at Lhendekhola has already begun.

Speaking to journalists in Nuwakot after inspecting the Galchhi–Trishuli–Mailung–Syafrubeshi–Rasuwagadhi Road Project, which is being developed as part of a tri-country international highway, the minister said all relevant agencies have been mobilized to restore road connectivity.

The Miteri Bridge—symbolizing Nepal-China friendship—was swept away by a flood in Lhendekhola on July 8. Minister Dahal noted that efforts are underway to make the Galchhi–Rasuwagadhi section operational in time for the festival season. He added that the Syafrubeshi–Rasuwagadhi segment will be restored with assistance from the Chinese government.
