Addressing the Journalist Health Insurance Policy Handover programme organized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law of Karnali Province today, the Chief Minister said journalism is not only a challenging profession but also a pillar of democracy.

“Journalism is always a profession dedicated to seeking truth and shaping public opinion. The state must be concerned with the security and protection of journalists who perform such a sensitive and demanding duty,” the Chief Minister added.

He further noted that openness, mutual respect, and cooperation between the state and the media fraternity are essential.

The health insurance programme represents the state’s recognition of journalists’ security and a commitment to democratic norms and human rights, he stated.
