UML Central Committee meeting: 180 members speak; 264 questions collected on statute amendment

KATHMANDU: A total of 180 central committee members have expressed their views during the ongoing ninth Central Committee meeting of the ruling CPN-UML.

Following the members’ remarks, the heads of party commissions have begun delivering their statements. After their turn, leaders who submitted reports are expected to respond to the questions raised during the sessions.

According to a participating leader, each commission chair has been allocated seven minutes to speak. Once the three commission chairs present their views, the responding session from reporting leaders will follow.

The meeting has collected 264 questions related to proposed amendments to the party statute. Based on these, the party plans to form a unified position and table it for discussion and approval at the upcoming statute convention.

In both Monday’s and Tuesday’s sessions, the majority of speakers emphasized the need to focus on ‘Mission 2084’, the party’s long-term strategy. They voiced support for continuing this mission under the leadership of Chairperson and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
