EC determines 537 polling centers for by-election



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has finalized 537 polling centers at 247 places for the coming by-election scheduled on November 30.

According to EC Spokesperson Girija Sharma, there would be 537 polling centers at 247 places of the concerned constituency areas of 37 districts.

Sharma said the election is taking place for 52 posts — one House of Representatives (HoR), three State Assembly members, one municipality mayor, three rural municipality chairpersons, one rural municipality vice-chair and 43 ward chairs of rural municipality and municipalities.

A total of 454,114 voters — 233,402 female, 220,710 male and 2 third gender — will vote in the by-election.
