Bibeksheel Sajha demands immediate dismissal of Ministers Gupta and Adhikari

KATHMANDU: The Bibekseel Sajha Party has called on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to immediately dismiss Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Rajkumar Gupta and Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation Balram Adhikari, following serious corruption allegations against them.

In a strongly worded press statement issued on Monday, the party demanded the immediate removal of both ministers, who it says are “deeply entangled in corruption.”

The call comes after audio recordings surfaced in the media, allegedly implicating the two ministers in a bribery deal related to political appointments and administrative transfers.

“The party is deeply concerned that despite the audio evidence and widespread media reporting on the case, the ministers continue to hold office,” the statement, signed by party spokesperson Ashutosh Pradhan, reads.

Bibekseel Sajha warned that the failure to remove the ministers could turn public suspicion toward Prime Minister Oli himself. “The ministers are enjoying full state privileges paid for by taxpayers, yet they face direct and serious public allegations of corruption,” the party said.

Referring to the growing number of unresolved corruption cases involving public officials, the party said this latest scandal shows how weak Nepal’s governance system has become. “The involvement of sitting ministers in a direct bribery case is a glaring reflection of the state of misgovernance,” the statement added.

The party has also drawn the attention of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), urging it to launch a thorough investigation into the scandal and take necessary action.
