Roshani reiterates her initial stance; says she was under mental pressure

Warns of filing cyber-crime case against journalists

KATHMANDU: Roshani Shahi, who earlier alleged former Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara of sexual abuse, said she lodged a complaint against the latter owing to immense mental torture from the police.

Roshani said she lodged the complaint as she was under pressure and was ‘watched’ all the time by the police.

She made this revelation through a press statement on Friday claiming that even though she wanted to bring all facts to the people by organizing a press conference, she could not do so as she was constantly under police observation.

Roshani, staff at the parliament secretariat, reiterated her stance saying that the statement that she had recorded to the police on October 2 was authentic.

“I wanted to expose the incident through press conference but could not do so as I was under constant police observation,” her statement said.

She has also alleged some journalists of coming to her room and interviewing her and disseminating the information without her consent by taking advantage of her ill-health.

Roshani has warned of filing a case of cyber-crime against journalists who disseminating her interview without her consent.
