KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank has released the official foreign exchange rates for today (Monday). The US dollar remained stable, while the value of several foreign currencies, including the Australian dollar and Bahraini dinar, has declined. In contrast, the euro, pound sterling, and Kuwaiti dinar have appreciated.
According to the central bank, today’s buying rate for one US dollar is NPR 136.34, and the selling rate is NPR 136.94—the same as yesterday. Today, the buying rate for one euro is NPR 160.59, and the selling rate is NPR 161.30. Yesterday, these rates were NPR 160.58 and NPR 161.29, respectively.
The buying rate for one pound sterling today is NPR 186.15, and the selling rate is NPR 186.97. Yesterday, the rates stood at NPR 186.10 for buying and NPR 186.92 for selling.
Similarly, the buying rate for one Australian dollar today is NPR 89.34, and the selling rate is NPR 89.74. This is a slight drop from yesterday’s rates of NPR 89.43 (buying) and NPR 89.82 (selling).
The Kuwaiti dinar has appreciated slightly, with today’s buying rate at NPR 447.16 and the selling rate at NPR 449.13. Yesterday, the rates were NPR 446.67 and NPR 448.64, respectively.
Meanwhile, the buying rate for one Bahraini dinar today is NPR 361.64, and the selling rate is NPR 363.24. These rates are slightly lower than yesterday’s NPR 361.67 (buying) and NPR 363.26 (selling).
Nepal Rastra Bank has stated that these exchange rates may be revised at any time as necessary. It also noted that commercial banks may offer different rates, and the latest updates are available on the central bank’s official website.
