Mary Kom reaches semi-final in 8th World Championships



NEW DELHI: India’s popular boxer, Mary Kom got a bronze medal in the 51kg category in the Women’s World Boxing Championships in Ulan Ude on Thursday by reaching the semi-final.

Mary won Rio Olympic bronze medalist Ingrit Valencia of Colombia to reach the semi-final.

Likewise, India’s Mary Kom became the first boxer in the history of World Championships to get 8 world meet medals, Indian media reports have said.

Mary Kom has so far 6 gold medals and a silver at the World Championships. (Agencies)
