KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli returned home today after attending the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FFD4) organized by the United Nations in Seville, Spain, from June 30 to July 3, 2025.

Upon his arrival at the VVIP Lounge of Tribhuvan International Airport, Prime Minister Oli was welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey, and Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal. A Nepal Army contingent presented a guard of honour on the occasion.

Prime Minister Oli had departed for Spain on June 28 at the official invitation of UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.

During his stay, PM Oli held separate bilateral meetings with several heads of state and government. He also paid a courtesy call on King Felipe VI of Spain and held talks with his Spanish counterpart, Prime Minister Sánchez, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On the sidelines of the FFD4 Summit, the Prime Minister engaged in discussions with leaders of global and regional organizations, financial and trade institutions, business representatives, civil society, and UN officials.

Nepal actively contributed to discussions on the development challenges faced by Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated. The conference focused on addressing both immediate and long-term investment challenges to achieve sustainable development.

The Prime Minister led a 21-member delegation, which included his spouse Radhika Shakya, Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, and Finance Secretary Ghanashyam Upadhyay, among others.
