Finance Minister asks Malaysian investors to explore opportunities in infrastructure and tourism in Nepal



KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel has called on Malaysian investors to expand their investment in Nepal’s infrastructure and tourism sectors, citing favorable conditions and government readiness to support foreign investment.

Speaking during a meeting with a delegation from the Malaysia-Nepal Business Council currently visiting Nepal, Minister Paudel said that Nepal offers promising prospects, especially in physical infrastructure and tourism, and encouraged the private sector to take advantage of the investment-friendly environment.

“Nepal has a suitable environment for private sector investment. Our policies are investor-friendly. Identify potential sectors and move ahead with good preparation. The government is committed to facilitating and supporting you,” Minister Paudel told the delegation.

The Malaysian delegation expressed interest in a range of sectors including information technology, trade, hydropower, infrastructure, environment, and tourism.

Members of the delegation included Council Chairperson Pradeep Kumar Kukreja, Dr. Chai Ki Khan, Ganesh Kumar Vanaga, and MK Sangrah, among others.

The meeting was part of ongoing efforts by both nations to enhance bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
