Nepal showcases blend of nature, culture and adventure at BITE 2025

BEIJING: Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has announced its readiness to welcome Chinese tourists with a unique blend of nature, culture, and adventure at the Beijing International Tourism Expo (BITE) 2025.

Speaking during the three-day exhibition held at the China International Exhibition Center in Chaoyang District, NTB Senior Manager Suman Ghimire highlighted Nepal’s offerings as an ideal destination enriched by spirituality, cultural diversity, and natural beauty.

He underscored that Nepal has consistently regarded neighboring China as a vital tourism source market.

Ghimire also noted that Nepal’s tourism packages incorporate elements of art, culture, holidays, and Buddhist heritage — all of which were prominently featured in Nepal’s presentation at the expo.

The Nepal pavilion attracted considerable attention from tourism professionals and visitors alike, particularly for its focus on soft adventure, cultural circuits, spiritual destinations, and short leisure getaways. In recognition of its popularity and compelling display, the Nepal Pavilion was awarded the “Best Popularity Award.”

According to NTB, the expo was structured with B2B networking on the first two days and B2C interactions on the final day. On the sidelines of the event, NTB promoted Nepal as a “Lifetime Experience” destination and explored collaboration opportunities with Chinese tourism businesses.

The Nepal Pavilion creatively showcased the country’s rich cultural and historical heritage, thrilling Himalayan experiences, and diverse tourism potential. Participating private tour operators also presented premium travel packages designed to deliver multifaceted experiences for Chinese travelers.

Prominent visitors to the Nepal Pavilion included Nepal’s Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation Deepak Khadka, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Nepal Embassy in Beijing Roshan Khanal, and Parbati Aryal from the Department of Economic Affairs.

Tour operators such as Pearl Holidays, Outside Adventure, Nepal Himalayan International Travel, Journey DMC, Himalaya Safety Treks & Expedition, Dragon Holidays, Accessible Adventure, and Friends Adventure Team, along with NTB officials Suman Ghimire and Gopal Bhandari, actively took part in the expo.

The Nepali delegation also held bilateral discussions with tourism stakeholders from the Maldives and St. Petersburg, Russia, to promote joint tourism development. The NTB expressed optimism that these engagements would lead to increased tourist arrivals from Beijing and surrounding cities in the near future.
