Sub-engineer dies after being swept away by flood in Lalitpur



LALITPUR: A sub-engineer lost his life after being swept away by a flood in Thula Durlung, located in Mahakal Rural Municipality-6, southeastern Lalitpur.

According to Ward Chair Binod Chaulagain, the deceased has been identified as Sabin Dahal, a 21-year-old sub-engineer. Originally from Kaleshwor, Mahakal-4, Dahal had been residing in Harisiddhi, Lalitpur Metropolitan City-29.

The incident occurred on Wednesday evening, when Dahal was swept away by a sudden flood in the Bharyang Khola while in Thula Durlung. His body was recovered around 10 PM, approximately two and a half hours after he went missing.

“He was swept away by the river around 7:30 PM. We found his body at around 10 PM during the search,” said Chaulagain.

Lalitpur District Police have confirmed the incident and stated that further investigation is underway.
