Discussion on budget allocations for ten ministries concludes in House session



KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives on Saturday concluded discussions on the appropriation bill for fiscal year 2082, focusing on budget headings related to ten government ministries.

The ministries under discussion were: Federal Affairs and General Administration; Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation; Defence; Health and Population; Drinking Water; Education, Science and Technology; Foreign Affairs; Labour, Employment and Social Security; Home Affairs; and Communication and Information Technology.

Lawmakers including Dr. Chandrakanta Bhandari, Sunita Baral, Devendra Paudel, Rama Koirala Paudel, Bhagwati Chaudhary, Mina Tamang, Lal Prasad Sawa Limbu, Bimala Subedi, Deepa Sharma, Dev Prasad Timilsina, Nagina Yadav, Saraj Ahmad Farooqi, Kantika Sejuwal, Hitraj Pandey, Dinesh Kumar Yadav, Narayan Prasad Acharya, Shanti Bik and Hridayaram Thani participated in the discussion.

Speaker Devraj Ghimire announced that discussions and ministerial responses for remaining ministries and secretariats under the appropriation bill will be held on Asar 8, 9, and 10.

He also informed that Sunday’s session (Asar 8) will include discussion on budget allocations for the Ministry of Youth and Sports; Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens; Ministry of Finance; Ministry of Urban Development; the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers; the National Planning Commission; and the offices of the President and Vice President.

The next meeting of the House of Representatives will convene at 11 a.m. on Asar 8.
