Myagdi Volleyball Cup-2082 to begin in Beni today



MYAGDI: Preparations have been finalized for the Myagdi Volleyball Cup-2082, an inter-district men’s volleyball tournament at the Gandaki Province level. The event will kick off in Beni today (Saturday), with total prize money of Rs 200,000.

The tournament is being organized by the Myagdi District Volleyball Association in collaboration with the Provincial Sports Council Gandaki Promotion and the District Sports Development Committee Myagdi. Association President Tejendra Baniya confirmed that all necessary arrangements have been completed.

According to Chairman Baniya, the participating teams will include representatives from Mustang, Baglung, Parbat, Kaski, Tanahun, Syangja, Gorkha, Nawalpur, Lamjung, and Manang, along with the host district, Myagdi.

The winning team will receive a cash prize of Rs 200,000, while the runner-up will receive Rs 100,000. The third-place team will be awarded Rs 50,000, and the fourth-place team will receive Rs 25,000. In addition to the cash prizes, all top four teams will also be awarded trophies, medals, and certificates.

Individual awards will also be presented during the tournament. The best coach and the best player will each receive a cash prize of Rs 5,000.

Similarly, the best spiker, server, blocker, libero, defender, and setter in the tournament will each be awarded Rs 3,000, along with a trophy and certificate.

General Secretary of the Myagdi District Volleyball Association, Kumar Kishan, informed that the organizers will bear all management expenses for the competition.

Each team will consist of 12 players, one coach, and one manager, making a total of 14 members per team.
