Wild elephant found dead in Sunsari’s Barahakshetra



SUNSARI: A wild elephant was discovered dead today, Monday morning, in a maize field near the Kausiki Community Forest in Barahakshetra Municipality Ward No. 2, Sunsari.

Barahakshetra Municipality Mayor Ramesh Karki confirmed the finding, stating that the elephant was approximately 5–7 years old.

Mayor Karki reported that a team comprising personnel from the Sunsari District Forest Office and Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve is currently investigating the cause of the elephant’s death.
