Nepal announces squad for T20I tri-series in Scotland



KATHMANDU: Nepal has announced its squad for the upcoming T20I tri-series against Scotland and the Netherlands, set to begin this Sunday in Scotland.

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) released the squad on Friday evening. Compared to the recent ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 ODI series, two players have been dropped while three new faces have been added to the T20I squad.

Lokesh Bam, Kiran Thagunna, and Rupesh Singh have been included, while Sompal Kami and Gulshan Jha have been ruled out due to injuries.

Kiran Thagunna has earned his first-ever call-up to the national team. Rupesh Singh was previously part of Nepal’s squad during the Hong Kong T20I series but is yet to make his debut. Lokesh Bam continues to be a regular feature in Nepal’s T20 setup.

Nepal is scheduled to play its first match against the Netherlands on June 16, followed by matches against Scotland on June 17, the Netherlands again on June 19, and Scotland once more on June 20.

In the recently concluded ODI tri-series under the ICC League 2, Nepal won 3 out of 4 matches.
