Two key parliamentary committees to convene today

KATHMANDU: Two important committees under the National Assembly of the Federal Parliament are scheduled to meet today in Singha Durbar to deliberate on matters related to federal governance and legislative reforms.

The Committee on Strengthening Federalism and National Concerns will convene at 11 am in the committee meeting hall.

The agenda includes discussions on the 2023 report concerning the human-wildlife conflict in national parks, wildlife reserves, and buffer zones across the country. The meeting will also review the implementation status of various directives previously issued by the committee to relevant government agencies.

Later, at 1 pm, the Legislation Management Committee will hold its meeting, also in Singha Durbar. The committee plans to conduct a clause-by-clause review of the proposed “Bill to Amend Certain Nepal Acts, 2023.”

This bill seeks to revise multiple laws to ensure consistency with constitutional provisions and changing policy needs.

These meetings reflect Parliament’s ongoing efforts to address federal challenges and update outdated legal frameworks in line with the evolving governance landscape of Nepal.
