KATHMANDU: The government today formed a four-member committee to look into the dispute surrounding the Guthi (trusts) of Bouddhanath Stupa in Kathmandu.

A meeting held at the Ministry of Home Affairs today formed the committee.

The meeting was attended by Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa, Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Padma Kumari Aryal, and Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai.

The four-member committee will also facilitate to resolve the conflict among the Bouddhnanath Area Development Committee, Boudhha Melamchi Ghyang Guthi, and the Bouddha Tamang Kalyan Guthi.

The Committee, coordinated by the Joint-Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation Rudra Singh Tamang includes representatives of the District Administration Office, Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Guthi Sansthan, has been entrusted to submit a report along with recommendations on resolving the dispute.
