HoR meeting postponed until 4 pm amid ongoing deadlock

KATHMANDU: Today’s meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) has been postponed once again.

The Parliament Secretariat issued a second notice, rescheduling the session for 4 pm, according to Unified Socialist MP Rajendra Pandey.

Originally set to begin at 11 am, the meeting was first delayed until 2 pm due to a lack of consensus among political parties. As the impasse remained unresolved by 2 pm, the session was further postponed.

Opposition parties—including the Maoist Centre, Rastriya Swatantra Party, and Unified Socialist—have continued to disrupt proceedings, demanding the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak over his alleged involvement in the visit visa scandal.

Pandey stated that the opposition is insisting on the formation of a high-level investigation committee, a demand the ruling coalition has so far declined to accept.
