Nearly 78% pass Nepal Medical Council UG licensing exam



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Medical Council (NMC) has announced the results of its latest Undergraduate (UG) Licensing Examination, with 77.99% of the candidates passing the test.

The examination was conducted from May 26 to 29, with a total of 2,090 candidates registered. Among them, 2,077 appeared for the exam, while 13 were absent.

The exam included both medical and dental programs. In the medical category, 1,611 candidates had registered, of whom 1,600 sat for the exam. 1,226 passed, marking a pass rate of 76.62%.

In the dental category, 479 candidates registered, and 477 appeared for the test. 394 passed, resulting in a higher success rate of 82.60%.

The NMC UG Licensing Examination is a mandatory step for graduates seeking to practice medicine and dentistry in Nepal.

The consistent pass rates indicate ongoing competitiveness and quality in Nepal’s medical education and licensing system.
