KATHMANDU: Leaders from Nepal’s private sector have responded positively to the new federal budget, stating that several of their suggestions have been included.
Kamalesh Agrawal, President of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, said the budget reflected their recommendations. While he called the targets for economic growth and revenue collection appropriate, he noted that implementation would be challenging.
Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) President Chandra Dhakal echoed the sentiment, stating, “Many of the suggestions we submitted have been incorporated. The Finance Bill will further clarify details, but the emphasis on prioritizing the private sector is encouraging.”
FNCCI Vice President Hem Raj Dhakal said the budget addresses most of the demands raised by the private sector. However, he cautioned that the increase in the overall size of the budget presents implementation challenges.
Ranbir Chaudhary, President of the Nepal Automobile Dealers’ Association (NADA), expressed pride that NADA’s concerns had been acknowledged, calling it a step forward for the industry.
