Energy Minister wants subordinate bodies for prompt service delivery



KATHMANDU: Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation, Deepak Khadka, has instructed employees of the Ministry’s subordinate bodies to avoid delays in service delivery.

During a meeting held today, the Minister emphasized the need to address public grievances regarding slow responses and urged the officials to meet citizens’ needs within three days of receiving requests.

Minister Khadka expressed concern over the lack of significant progress within the Ministry’s subordinate institutions. He stressed the need to implement a system of ‘reward and punishment’ could help achieve the desired outcomes.

The Minister further directed the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology to enhance public access to its information system, especially as the monsoon season approaches.

The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation, Kham Bahadur Garburja; Energy Secretary Suresh Acharya; Water Resources and Irrigation Secretary Sarita Dawadi; Director General of the Department of Water Resources and Irrigation, Sanjeeb Baral; Director General of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Kamal Raj Joshi; and Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Hitendra Dev Shakya.
