KATHMANDU: Nepal’s stock market saw a notable rise today amid growing speculation that economist Dr. Biswo Paudel will be appointed as the next Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank.
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index increased by 49.09 points, closing at 2,677.45.
In today’s trading, share prices of 229 companies increased, while 15 declined. One company’s share price remained unchanged.
The total transaction amount reached NPR 7.31 billion, with all sub-indices ending in the green.
Among the traded stocks, Sindhu Bikas Bank yielded the highest gains for investors, whereas those trading shares of Vin Nepal Laghubitta faced the most significant losses.
