Zimbabwe beats Nepal by 5 wickets in Singapore T20 Tri-Series



KATHMANDU: Zimbabwe defeated Nepal by five wickets in the Singapore Twenty20 Tri-Series being played in Singapore on Friday evening.

Chasing down the 133 runs target set by Nepal, Zimbabwe reached the target in 18.1 over losing five wickets.

Ryan Burl (41) and Richmond Mutumbami (40) contributed a not out partnership of 81 runs to secure the victory for Zimbabwe after three of its batsmen were out without scoring.

For Nepal, Sandeep Lamichhane took three wickets giving away 15 runs and skipper Paras Khadka grabbed one wicket.

Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss, Nepal managed to notch up 132 runs on the board losing six wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

For Nepal, Dipendra Singh Airee top-scored at 40 runs off 33 balls hitting five fours. Likewise, Sompal Kami (not out) and skipper Paras Khadka made 25 and 18 runs respectively.

Sean Williams of Zimbabwe sent two Nepali batsmen back to the pavilion as Wellington Masakadza, Tendai Chatara, Neville Madziv and Ryan Burl took one wicket each.
