PM Oli reiterates plan to hand over premiership to Deuba after 14 months

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) KP Oli has reiterated his earlier statement that he will hand over the post of Prime Minister (PM) to Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba after 14 months.

Speaking at a program in Kathmandu on Thursday, PM Oli remarked that while some individuals never got the opportunity to plan for the country’s development, others received that chance repeatedly.

He added that just as some people continue to be given such roles, he too would hand over the post of Prime Minister to Nepali Congress President Deuba—”in installments”—after the next 14 months.

“After 14 months, there will be another honor. I will also receive that honor—being one of you, a fellow member,” said Oli. PM Oli also stated that after 14 months, he would become the “former Chairman of the National Planning Commission.”
