Habeas corpus petition for Rabindra Mishra scheduled for hearing

KATHMANDU: The habeas corpus petition filed on behalf of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Senior Vice Chair Rabindra Mishra is set to be presented at the Supreme Court in the bench of Justice Sunil Pokharel.

Mishra’s wife, Sarika Karki, filed the writ on Tuesday, claiming that her husband is being held unlawfully following his arrest during a royalist protest at three locations in Kathmandu on March 28.

Police have extended Mishra’s detention for the eighth time, citing an ongoing investigation into charges of sedition, organized crime, and criminal nuisance.
