ISC delegates meet PM Oli to promote parliamentary cooperation



KATHMANDU: Participants of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC) held a meeting with former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Monday, aiming to strengthen parliamentary diplomacy and foster shared prosperity through international cooperation.

The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar, where delegates and Prime Minister Oli exchanged experiences and discussed common goals for peace and development.

On the occasion, Oli expressed Nepal’s readiness to collaborate with ISC member countries in international forums.

“Nepal is committed to working together for shared global objectives, particularly through parliamentary diplomacy,” he said.

The visiting delegation included Malaysian parliamentarians Mohd Hatta Ramli, Rodziah Ismail, and Larry Sng Wei Shien. ISC advisor from Japan, Masaichi Hori, was also present at the meeting.

Representing Nepal, newly appointed ISC General Secretary Eknath Dhakal, CPN-UML Whip Sunita Baral, and Prime Minister Oli’s Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal also attended the discussions.

The ISC aims to facilitate dialogue among lawmakers across countries to address pressing global issues through mutual cooperation and understanding.
