KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has reported that the country is currently experiencing the effects of westerly and local winds, along with partial influence from moisture-laden air entering from the Arabian Sea.

According to the Division, hilly regions are witnessing partly to generally cloudy conditions, while the rest of the country remains mostly clear to partly cloudy.

Light rain has been recorded in some hilly areas, particularly in Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

By this afternoon, light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in one or two locations in the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali. Gusty winds are also possible in parts of the Terai region of Madhes and Lumbini provinces.

Tonight, the hilly areas, including Koshi, will remain partly cloudy, while the rest of the country will be mostly clear. There is a chance of light rain with thunder and lightning in isolated hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki, along with possible light rain or snowfall in a few mountainous regions.
