Proactive engagement of NC departments energizes the party: President Deuba

LALITPUR: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the proactive involvement of the party’s various departments has brought new energy and dynamism to the organization.

He made the remarks at a program organized by the NC’s Poor and Disadvantaged Uplift Coordination Department at the party’s central office in Sanepa.

The event marked the submission of a report recommending policies and programs aimed at identifying, uplifting, and empowering disadvantaged communities.

Deuba emphasized that the active role of the departments has made the party more dynamic, strong, and effective. “This report is crucial for pro-poor policy reforms. Its recommendations will serve as valuable guidance for the party’s structure and elected representatives at all levels,” he said, adding, “The party recognizes this report as an important document and will work to implement it.”

Also speaking at the event, NC Vice President Dhanraj Gurung noted the report’s relevance at a time when the government is preparing its annual policy, programs, and budget.

“Rather than distributing two or four pieces of land, we should empower the poor with skills, resources, and opportunities to shape their future,” he said, describing the current model of social allowance distribution as “unscientific and unjust.”
