Rana Daggubati lauds Akshay Kumar’s ‘Kesari 2’

MUMBAI: Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Kesari 2’ is one of the most-awaited films of this month.

Actor Rana Daggubati watched the historical courtroom drama before its release as he bought the Telugu rights of the film, and he is all praise for it.

Taking to Instagram, Rana wrote, “Just watched an incredible historical courtroom drama — Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh. A powerful, important film that stands tall and stays deep with the Indian in you. This is storytelling that deserves to be seen across languages. We @SureshProductions will do everything we can to bring this cinematic gem to Telugu audiences in the best way in cinemas. A must-watch. And great performances by @akshaykumar @actormaddy @ananyapanday #KesariChapter2.”

The first part, which was released in 2019, followed the events leading to the Battle of Saragarhi, a battle between 21 Sikh soldiers of the 36th Sikh Regiment of the British Indian Army and 10,000 Afridi and Orakzai Pashtun tribesmen in 1897. Parineeti Chopra played a pivotal role in the first chapter.

The lead star, Akshay Kumar, will play the legendary advocate C Sankaran Nair in the film, which will be released on April 18. Actors R. Madhavan and Ananya Panday are also a part of ‘Kesari 2’. (ANI)
