Three parliamentary committees to convene today



KATHMANDU: Three committees under the Federal Parliament are scheduled to hold meetings today to discuss key legislative and oversight matters.

The Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee of the House of Representatives is set to meet at 11 am. The committee will hold discussions with the Home Minister regarding alleged human rights violations during the royalist protest that took place in Tinkune, Kathmandu, on March 28.

Meanwhile, in the National Assembly, two committees will also convene. The Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee will meet at 11 am to consult with officials from the Public Procurement Monitoring Office. The focus of the meeting will be on issues related to procurement policies and oversight mechanisms.

Later in the day, the Legislative Management Committee will meet at 1 pm to conduct a clause-by-clause discussion on the Ships (Operation and Management) Bill, as per the committee’s announcement.
