Malaysian court acquits two Nepalis accused of murder

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian court has acquitted two Nepalis arrested on the charge of beating their supervisor to death over unpaid wages.

Petaling Jaya Magistrate Court ordered their release on Friday and they have been sent to Nepal already.

According to advocate, Kharen Jeet Kaur, two Nepalis working as security guards were arrested for allegedly killing supervisor Lee Poh Meng, 54, hailing from China.

A video showing a man thrashing the supervisor with a helmet had been doing the rounds in social media. Lee was found dead and locked inside a staff toilet at the Jalan 13/2 based apartment on September 2.

The court pronounced Indian national Santosh Singh guilty for the murder. Murder-convict receives a death penalty in Malaysia.
