Minister Sudi stresses women’s rights



RAJBIRAJ: Minister for Women, Children, and Senior Citizens, Nawal Kishor Saha Sudi, has called for more serious efforts from the state in enforcing women’s rights in Nepal.

Speaking at the closing session of a week-long training on ‘gender-responsive research and media’ on Friday, Minister Sudi expressed concern over the increasing incidents of violence against women in Nepali society. He stressed the need for women to have access to education, health, and equal opportunities in state institutions, highlighting the urgency of ending violence and discrimination.

While acknowledging the government’s commitment to advancing women’s rights, Minister Sudi emphasized the importance of collaboration with civil society organizations to tackle these issues.

During the event, Chief District Officer of Saptari, Bhola Dahal, and Superintendent of Police, Dhakendra Khatiwada, also discussed the role of Nepal Police in reducing violence against women in the district.
