NSL: Kathmandu face Pokhara and Lalitpur face Dhangadi today

KATHMANDU: For the first time in the ongoing third season of the Nepal Super League (NSL), fans are set for a thrilling Super Saturday double-header at Dasharath Stadium, Tripureshwor.

Two crucial matches featuring former champions and runners-up promise high stakes and intense competition.

Both Pokhara Thunders and Kathmandu Rayzrs are still hunting for their first win this season. Kathmandu has managed two draws in as many matches — a 2-2 thriller against Lalitpur City followed by a goalless draw with Jhapa FC — while Pokhara has suffered back-to-back defeats at the hands of FC Chitwan (2-0) and Lalitpur City (3-2).

Today’s match is a do-or-die situation for both sides. Pokhara will aim to bounce back from two narrow losses, while Kathmandu hopes to convert draws into a much-needed win and climb the table.

In the evening fixture, Lalitpur City will face Dhangadhi FC in what could be a battle for the top spot. Lalitpur has shown steady form, drawing their opener against Kathmandu before defeating Pokhara 3-2 in a dramatic comeback. With 4 points from two games, they sit second on the table.

Dhangadhi, meanwhile, impressed in their opening match with a resounding 4-1 win over Butwal Lumbini FC. As a two-time runner-up, they’re eyeing redemption this season and could leap to the summit with another win tonight.
