KATHMANDU: The Embassy of India in Kathmandu, the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, Nepal, and various Project Implementing Agencies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the implementation of 10 High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDPs) under India’s grant assistance of Rs 625 million.

The projects will be executed through local government bodies, including metropolitan cities, sub-metropolitan cities, municipalities, and rural municipalities.

These HICDPs aim to enhance education, healthcare, and cultural facilities across Nepal, benefiting local communities.

Since 2003, India has supported 573 HICDPs in Nepal, of which 495 projects have been completed across all seven provinces.

These initiatives cover sectors such as education, health, roads, bridges, irrigation, electrification, and social welfare. The remaining projects are currently in various phases of implementation.
