Nepal grateful to UAE for granting amnesty to 166 Nepali inmates



KATHMANDU: The Government of Nepal has expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for granting amnesty to 166 Nepali inmates on the auspicious occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan and the festival of Eid.

In a press release issued today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs acknowledged and highly valued this generous gesture of pardon, made on humanitarian grounds, as a symbol of the strong and cordial relations between Nepal and the UAE.

The decision to grant amnesty was made following a request from the Government of Nepal through its Embassy in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
