Oli-led govt will not protect Constitution: Mahendra Raya Yadav

KATHMANDU: Nepal Samajwadi Party Chairman Mahendra Raya Yadav has stated that the government led by CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli will not protect the Constitution.

Speaking at a protest rally organized by the Socialist Front in Kathmandu on Friday, Yadav expressed his belief that this government will not safeguard the Constitution or the republic.

Yadav said, “Federalism is under attack from multiple fronts. Efforts are being made to dismantle federalism in the country. If federalism is abolished, it could lead to conflict.”

He also challenged former King Gyanendra Shah to enter politics by forming a party, asserting that the monarchy will not return.

He added, “Under this Constitution, the king is considered a citizen. The state has provided all the necessary facilities. We want him to remain within the boundaries of the constitution, contest elections as a citizen, register a party, and move forward.”
