HoR and National Assembly meetings scheduled for today

KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives (HoR) is set to convene today following an adjournment in the previous session.

On Thursday, Speaker Devraj Ghimire met with whips of major political parties to discuss the proceedings of the HoR session, but no consensus was reached. Consequently, the session was postponed until 11:00 AM on Friday, as per the Federal Parliament Secretariat.

Opposition parties, including the Maoist Centre, Rastriya Swatantra Party, and Unified Socialist, have demanded that the Prime Minister address the House regarding the dismissal of Kulman Ghising as Managing Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority.

Similarly, the National Assembly meeting is scheduled for 1:15 PM today. The previous session on Thursday was adjourned due to disruptions caused by opposition lawmakers.
