KATHMANDU: The CPN (Maoist Centre) has strongly opposed the government’s decision to remove Kulman Ghising from his position as the Manging Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).

In a statement issued today, party Vice-Chair and spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota called for an immediate reversal of the decision, labeling it a blatant example of bad governance.

“This decision aims to create psychological fear among competent administrators who work with honesty and dedication. Our party strongly demands its immediate withdrawal,” the statement reads.

The Maoist Centre also condemned what it called a “deliberate smear campaign” against the party following Ghising’s removal.

The statement further rejected allegations linking the party’s leadership to negotiations on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons.

Urging the public not to be misled by misinformation, the party warned against any further attempts to spread false narratives.
