Kulman Ghising explores options following dismissal from NEA

KATHMANDU: After being dismissed by the government, Kulman Ghising, the outgoing Managing Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), has begun informal discussions with experts on his next steps.

Sources close to Ghising reveal that he is considering two primary options. One option involves seeking legal recourse by consulting with legal experts about potentially challenging the government’s decision in court.

Ghising is exploring the possibility of taking legal action to contest his dismissal and seek justice.

The second option being discussed internally is whether Ghising should hold a press conference to publicly disclose the names of individuals or entities who have not paid their electricity bills.

This move could be used to generate public support while also highlighting issues within the NEA. Additionally, Ghising is considering entering the political arena in the future, with or without pursuing legal action.

As of Tuesday morning, the government has not yet formally issued a dismissal letter to Ghising, but it is understood that he is preparing to proceed with one of these options as soon as the letter is received.
