KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah has publicly questioned Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh regarding long-standing urban issues.

In a social media post, Shah raised concerns about removing unmanaged settlements, regulating the Kapan Khola, protecting Balmandir, and safeguarding public properties, criticizing that these issues have remained unaddressed.

“Honorable Minister Prakash Man Singh, the issues of removing unmanaged settlements, regulating Kapan Khola, protecting Balmandir, and safeguarding public properties have always remained just discussions. When will they actually be addressed?” Shah wrote.

He further urged Singh not to sacrifice the city, constituency, and country in an attempt to undermine him.

“While trying to defeat me, please do not let your city, constituency, and country suffer,” he added.

Shah also warned against tarnishing the legacy of Ganesh Man Singh, P.L. Singh, and the Nepali Congress.

Mayor Shah and leaders from Nepali Congress and CPN-UML have frequently clashed over various issues in Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

Singh, who won the House of Representatives seat from Kathmandu Constituency No. 1, previously held the same position in 2079 BS.
