CHITWAN:  CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has announced plans to unite all socialist and Maoist forces under a single banner before the upcoming polls.

Addressing a mass meeting in Chitwan today as part of the Maoist Centre’s Tarai-Madhes Awakening Programme along the Postal Highway, the Maoist Centre Chair stated that his party was working to unite all Maoist factions and socialists for the general elections of 2084 BS.

He argued that the Maoist Centre’s strengthened position has dispelled the notion that the ‘ CPN (Maoist Centre) cannot compete in elections without forming alliances’.

Likewise, Prachanda also noted that regressive forces have become active as the Maoist party has become weak.

On the occasion, Chair Prachanda said that his party was in favour of the directly-elected presidential system since the very beginning and added that the system was required for the nation’s development.

Likewise, he shared that people have placed high expectations on the Maoist party in the recent days and people’s trust has increased.

Vice Chair of the Maoist Centre, Agni Sapkota, said the Maoist Centre was required for the nation’s epoch-making transformation.

Another Vice Chair Pampha Bhusal argued that good-governance was inevitable for the nation’s development.
Maoist Centre leaders Hitman Shakya, Ghanshyam Dahal, Ramchandra Adhikari and other leaders expressed their views at the event and stated that the feedback from the grassroots level people were inspiring for the CPN (Maoist Centre).
