Lifelong facilities will not be provided to former VIPs: Minister Paudel

NEPALGUNJ: Minister for Health and Population, Pradip Paudel, has said lifelong facilities should not be provided to former VIPs.

At a programme organized by Nepali Congress Banke here today, Minister Paudel asserted that a provision of providing facilities to former VIPs would not be made.

He, however, said that it was right for the state to show respect and honour to the former VIPs, but lifelong facilities should not be provided to them.

The Health Minister stressed that Nepalgunj Medical College administration itself should find out solution to problems it is facing.

“Medical colleges should be run in accordance with rules and regulations and they should follow all rules and regulations determined by the state,” he stressed.

He also warned of scrapping affiliations of any government, private and community hospitals that do not provide salary to human resources as determined in Labour Act.

Stating that preparation is on for price adjustment of medicines, Minister Paudel argued that activities would be carried out encouraging the domestic production.

The Health Minister said the government has invested much for the construction of basic hospitals in local levels, adding all these hospitals would come into operation in full capacity.

Sharing that the government has a plan of making health insurance effective, Minister Paudel stated that 6.6 million households would be covered in health insurance scheme.
