KATHMANDU: The Central Committee meeting of the Nagarik Unmukti Party  is underway today, continuing from its first session held yesterday following the party’s first national convention.

The meeting, taking place at a cafe in Central Baneshwor, aims to conclude after central members present their opinions and responses to key political issues.

On the first day, 20 central members shared their views on contemporary political matters, including the possibility of unification with other parties and fronts.

Founder Resham Lal Chaudhary, Chair Ranjita Shrestha, and other leaders addressed the gathering, highlighting the party’s stance on recent developments.

The meeting is attended by various central members, including those appointed during Chaudhary’s imprisonment, members elected from the first national convention, and founding central members.

Additionally, mayors and deputy mayors from municipalities elected by the party at the union and provincial levels, who were later appointed as central committee members, are also present.

The first national convention of the Nagarik Unmukti Party  took place in Tikapur, Kailali, from January 11 to 13, 2024. Although the convention formed a central committee under the leadership of Resham Chaudhary, he was later removed from office due to a court order.

The meeting is expected to conclude today after central members finish sharing their opinions and receive responses from party leadership.
