Nagarik Unmukti Party moves toward unification with Janmat Party, CK Raut likely to chair



KATHMANDU: The Nagarik Unmukti Party is moving toward a formal unification with the Janmat Party, led by Dr. CK Raut.

The decision to unify comes after resolving internal disputes, especially between party chairperson Ranjita Shrestha and founder Resham Lal Chaudhary. The unification will likely result in Dr. CK Raut becoming the new party chairperson.

On the other hand, Janmat has also decided to merge with the New Nepali Party, solidifying its influence in the Madhesh Province, while Nagarik Unmukti Party holds strong in Kailali and Bardiya districts.

The meeting has brought together central members, union and provincial parliamentarians, municipal leaders, and founding members to discuss the merger and seek suggestions.
