DADELDHURA: Cases of dengue have been spotted in the country’s hilly and mountainous districts, including in Dadeldhura district of the far western region.

An awareness rally against the disease was organized in the district today.

Dengue, which is mainly caused by mosquito bite has been the health issue faced in the Terai districts. However, this has spread to almost all parts of the country in recent times.

In the rally held in Dadeldhura, mosquito repellent was sprayed in some areas of Bagbazar, the district headquarters, as well as its adjoining areas.

Participants of the rally urged locals to keep the house, courtyard and the surroundings neat and clean.

At least three people in the district have been diagnosed with dengue so far, according to the Dadeldhura District Hospital.

Likewise, Bajhang and Doti districts have also reported one case each, said Dr Jitendra Kandel, Dadeldhura Hospital’s medical superintendent.
