FSU elections underway across TU campuses

KATHMANDU: Elections for the Free Student Union (FSU) are taking place across constituent and affiliated campuses of Tribhuvan University (TU).

According to Pasupati Adhikari, member secretary of the central FSU election monitoring and coordination committee, voting began at 8:00 AM on Tuesday in 46 constituent and 250 affiliated campuses.

He reported that voting is underway in most campuses within the Kathmandu Valley.

Vote counting is set to begin this evening, immediately after polling concludes, under the supervision of campus-level election committees.

TU conducts FSU elections every two years. So far, voting has remained peaceful in most campuses, including Thapathali Engineering Campus in Kathmandu.

Student organizations affiliated with major political parties, such as ANNFSU, Nepal Student Union (NSU), ANNFSU (Revolutionary) and independent student groups, are participating in the elections.
