Seven choppers make emergency landing in paddy field in Kavre, Sindhuli



KATHMANDU: Seven helicopters have made an emergency landing in Kavre district due to bad weather.

The helicopters – Manang Air, Simrik Air and Kailash Air – were flying to Kathmandu from Lukla of Solukhumbu this morning when they were forced to make an emergency landing in the paddy field due to poor visibility, said the airlines company.

Kavre District Police said emergency landing were also made in Panchkhal and in Harshe. Two helicopters belonging to Manang Air was carrying 5 foreigners each. Likewise, Simrik Air was carrying 5 foreigners, and Kailash Air was carrying 2 foreigners.

Likewise, three helicopters flying from Lukla to Kathmandu have also made an emergency landing in Nepalthok of Sindhuli.

Three among the four helicopters made an emergency landing at Panchkhal while the other landed at Hokse.

The helicopters will take off once the weather improves, according to  the company.
