Budget to be prepared in coordination with Ministries and NPC: FM Poudel



KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has stated that the upcoming fiscal budget will be prepared in coordination with the Ministry of Finance, relevant ministries, and the National Planning Commission.

Speaking at a discussion with the Ministry of Home Affairs on the budget for the fiscal year 2082/83, Minister Paudel emphasized that a coordinated approach would ensure ownership of the budget and facilitate its implementation.

He highlighted that consultations and discussions help create a common understanding and allow challenges to be addressed effectively.

Poudel also stressed the importance of aligning policies, programs, and the budget while urging officials to propose budget plans based on available resources.

The discussion was attended by Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, the Vice Chair of the National Planning Commission, the Finance Secretary, the Home Secretary, as well as the chiefs of Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force.
